    About Us

Flash Sports represents a number of first class and high quality amateur cricketers who are looking to play in the UK, either at the club or county level.

With particular strengths in the Indian, South African and Zimbabwean market, we can introduce your club to young up-and-coming stars right through to high-class international players.

Take a look at our client list to see who we are working with for 2017.

We work in partnership with Futura Sports (SA) and Zimbabwe Cricket, whose Academy squad will be touring England in 2017.

Flash Sports is owned and managed by Nick Gordon, who aside from a career in corporate PR and Marketing, has many years experience of sports club administration in cricket, rugby union and football.  He is also a director at JDG Media Ltd. and Commercial Manager at Marine AFC.

Our clothing partner is TCS, who supply teamwear and training kit for a number of cricket, football and rugby clubs around the UK and abroad.  We also work with mental health charity Opening Up Cricket, to promote mental health awareness and well-being in cricket.

    How we work:

Finding the right overseas player can be a time-consuming and arduous task. Let us remove the hassle by providing an end-to-end service that will ensure our player fits your requirements.

All our players have been personally recommended to us by our cricketing partners, Futura Sports, or official ambassador Tatenda Taibu (see below). Others are personal contacts of Nick Gordon, through his many years of playing club cricket in the Liverpool and District Cricket Competition. Here’s what you can expect from us:

    • We ensure our players are suitable role models and will represent your club with integrity and professionalism
    • We will work with your club to agree a suitable package that is in the best interests of all parties
    • We will always act with integrity and as part of a fully trusting business relationship
    • We are passionate about cricket and focused on delivering the best possible service for all our clients.

Most of our players have played first-class cricket, meaning they are eligible to enter the UK only on a Tier 5 (Temporary Worker – creative and sporting) visa.  If they have not done so already, clubs will need to apply for a sponsor licence, so that the player in question can apply for his or her visa to visit the UK.

Becoming a visa sponsor does not guarantee that the player in question will be allowed to come to or stay in the UK.  For further information on visa sponsorship and types of visa, please visit the UK government website.

Any contracts agreed will be legally binding and clubs would be liable for any associated fees, which would include an administration fee and/or a percentage of any agreed player payment, depending on the level of agreement.

    Zimbabwe Cricket Academy

An academy squad from Zimbabwe will be touring the UK in summer 2017 and will be based in the North West of England.  Members of the squad may also be available to play club cricket at weekends. For further details please click here.

Flash Sports Ambassador – Tatenda Taibu:

For cricket lovers around the world, Tatenda Taibu needs no introduction.  The youngest ever test skipper, he was just 20 when he was thrust into the limelight as back in 2004, and quickly became a national hero.

He led a weak Zimbabwe side during a difficult period, following the walk-out of several leading players, although still managed to finish with highly impressive international record. As well as being a world-class wicket-keeper, his batting stats read 1,546 runs at 30.31 with one century and 12 fifties in 28 tests.  In ODI cricket he amassed 3,393 runs in 150 matches at 29.25, with two centuries and 22 fifties.

Tatenda is a proud ambassador for Flash Sports and plays a leading role in player liaison in both Zimbabwe and the UK.  As well as overall responsibility for the Zimbabwe Academy squad, he has recommended all other Zimbabwe-based players on this site and is happy to endorse their credentials from both a personal and cricketing perspective.
